Over Two Decades in Education. One Question That Never Left.
Edun Abayomi has spent more than twenty years inside Nigerian education—not watching it from the outside, but building it from within. He began in primary school classrooms, progressed through secondary schools, and went on to specialise in teaching Physics up to college level across different stages of learning. Over time, he took on leadership roles as head of Science departments and later as a school principal, guiding curriculum development across several institutions.
He holds an M.Ed in Science Education, is certified by the TRCN, and holds the UK Department for Education's Qualified Teacher Status. This hands-on approach continues today through virtual teaching across the globe, supporting students from diverse curricula and educational systems.
Through it all, one question has stayed with him: why do capable students fall behind? In over two decades of teaching and leadership, the answer he kept returning to was the same. It was almost never about ability. Almost always, it came down to one thing: no one had yet found the right way to explain the material to that particular student. Syllabuses keep moving forward. Gaps quietly grow. And by the time exams arrive, those gaps can feel far larger than they are.
